A new "why?" about the world, every day.
For: Kids aged 6 to 8, parents and teachers
About the series
Bugsy, a tiny ladybug-robot, asks the questions kids ask: where the Sun goes at night, why the sky is blue, how plants drink. Every episode ends with a safe experiment to try at home with a grown-up.
Kids episodes are made for kids on YouTube: no comments, no ads targeted at children, and captions on every video.

Topics in this season
01Where does the Sun go at night?
Wow fact: Right now the Earth is spinning faster than a jet plane flies, and you can't even feel it!
02Why does the Moon change shape?
Wow fact: There's no wind on the Moon, so astronauts' footprints could stay there for millions of years!
03Why is the sky blue?
Wow fact: On Mars it's the other way round: the daytime sky looks orange-pink and the sunsets are blue!
04Why do things fall down?
Wow fact: The Moon's gravity is much weaker, so on the Moon you could jump about six times higher!
05What are stars?
Wow fact: Our Sun is a star too. It only looks big because it's the closest star to us.
06How big is the Sun?
Wow fact: About a million Earths could fit inside the Sun!
07Why can we see the Moon in the daytime?
Wow fact: The Moon is slowly drifting away from us, about 4 centimetres every year. That's about as fast as your fingernails grow!
08Where do puddles go?
Wow fact: The water from your puddle might come back down as rain in a whole other country!
09Where does rain come from?
Wow fact: Earth's water goes round and round, so some of the water you drink could once have been drunk by a dinosaur!
10Why does ice float?
Wow fact: Because ice floats on top, fish can keep swimming in the water under a frozen lake all winter!
11What are thunder and lightning?
Wow fact: Lightning is hotter than the surface of the Sun!
12Where does wind come from?
Wow fact: The fastest winds on Earth, inside tornadoes, can go faster than a racing car!
13How are rainbows made?
Wow fact: Rainbows are really full circles! From an airplane, people can sometimes see the whole ring.
14Why is the sea salty?
Wow fact: If all the salt in the sea were spread over the land, it would make a layer taller than a 40-storey building!
15How do plants drink?
Wow fact: A big tree can drink more water in one hot day than fits in a bathtub!
16Why are leaves green?
Wow fact: Plants make the oxygen we breathe. For every breath you take, thank a plant (and the tiny plants in the sea)!
17How does a seed become a plant?
Wow fact: Some of the biggest trees on Earth, giant sequoias, grow from a seed smaller than your fingernail!
18How do bees make honey?
Wow fact: To make just one spoonful of honey, bees visit thousands and thousands of flowers!
19How does a caterpillar become a butterfly?
Wow fact: Butterflies taste with their feet!
20Why do dogs sniff everything?
Wow fact: A dog can smell thousands of times better than you can!
21How do we know about dinosaurs?
Wow fact: Birds are living dinosaurs! The pigeon outside your window is a distant cousin of T. rex.
22Why does my heart go thump-thump?
Wow fact: Your heart beats about 100,000 times every single day, without you ever asking it to!
23Why do we sneeze?
Wow fact: A sneeze can spray tiny droplets across a whole room. That's why we sneeze into our elbow!
24How do my eyes see?
Wow fact: Everyone has a blind spot in each eye. Your brain fills in the gap so cleverly that you never notice!
25Why do we need to sleep?
Wow fact: Your body does lots of its growing while you are fast asleep!
26Why do we have bones?
Wow fact: Babies are born with about 300 bones. As they grow, some join together, and grown-ups end up with 206!
27Why do we have to eat?
Wow fact: Your brain uses about one fifth of all the energy from your food. Thinking is hungry work!
28Why do magnets stick?
Wow fact: The whole Earth is a giant magnet. That's why a compass needle always points north!
29Why do boats float?
Wow fact: The biggest ships are longer than three football fields and made of steel, and they still float!
30How do bridges hold so much?
Wow fact: Triangles are super strong shapes. Look for them in bridges, towers and cranes!
