Fairvisit privacy policy
- Everything you put in Fairvisit stays on your phone, encrypted. We have no servers and no accounts.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking. Nothing is collected by us or sent to us, and we never sell or share your data.
- Your customers' and technicians' details are entered by you and stay on your phone. Messages and documents go only where you send them.
What the app stores, and where
Fairvisit keeps the following only in the app's private storage on your device:
- Your business profile: business and owner name, phone, email, address, GST mode, GSTIN, PAN, UPI ID, invoice terms, and the card details (logo, tagline, services, areas served).
- Customers you add: names, phone numbers, addresses, landmarks and Google Maps links, notes, GSTIN for business customers, and whether (and when) they agreed to service reminders.
- Their machines (type, brand, model, serial, install and warranty dates) and service schedules.
- Job cards: the problem, the slot and technician, status history, work notes, before and after photos and the customer's on-screen signature.
- Money: price list and stock, estimates, invoices, payments, cash held by technicians and handovers, expenses, technician pay, and annual maintenance contracts (AMC).
- Technicians: names, phone numbers, skills, pay basis, designation and photo.
- Your settings, and an on-device history of changes (who changed what, when), so invoices and payments can be checked later.
It is encrypted. The database is encrypted with SQLCipher, using a key that is itself protected by the Android Keystore on your phone, so a copy of the app's files is unreadable elsewhere. Job photos and signatures are stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM) under a Keystore-protected key. Photos are resized and saved again when you add them, which removes hidden location data. Your logo and technician photos are kept in the app's private storage. PDFs and exports you create are temporary files, removed after a day.
None of this is sent to us or to anyone else by the app. Android's automatic cloud backup is switched off for Fairvisit, so your data is not copied into your Google account backup; the password-protected backup below is the only way it leaves the phone.
Permissions
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Notifications | The morning day plan, overdue jobs, service and AMC visits due, AMC renewals, dues, cash with technicians and backup reminders. On the lock screen they show counts only, never names or amounts. |
| Run at startup | Re-arms those reminders after the phone restarts. |
| Fingerprint | Optional: unlock the app with your fingerprint as well as the PIN. The fingerprint is checked by Android; the app never sees it. |
Fairvisit has no internet permission and asks for no contacts, SMS, call log, location, camera or storage permission. Photos come through Android's camera and photo picker, which hand over only the picture you take or pick. Calls open your dialer, addresses open Google Maps, and messages open WhatsApp or your SMS app with the text filled in: you press send.
Sharing you choose
When you send a job to a technician, a day plan, an estimate, an invoice, a payment reminder or receipt, a customer statement, a service reminder, a visiting card or sticker, or a report (PDF, Excel or CSV), the app hands it to the app you pick (for example WhatsApp, SMS, email, a printer or Google Drive). What happens next is covered by that app's privacy policy. A job sent to a technician carries only what the visit needs: the customer's name, phone, address, Maps link, machine and problem.
Invoices and payment cards can show a UPI QR code made from your UPI ID. Payment happens in the customer's own UPI app; Fairvisit doesn't see, process or confirm payments. You record a payment after checking your bank app.
You can also share a customer's WhatsApp message into Fairvisit to start a job card; only the text you share is kept.
People's data you enter
Customers and technicians don't use Fairvisit. Their details are entered by your business, are used only to run your service work, and stay on your phone. We never receive them.
Your duties under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. For your customers' and staff's personal data, your business is the data fiduciary, not letsbug. Tell customers what you keep and why, use it for their service, ask before sending service reminders (the app records their consent and its date), and erase their details when they ask. Fairvisit helps: Erase customer removes their name, phones, addresses, photos and signatures while keeping the invoices that GST law requires you to keep, and job photos are deleted automatically 12 months after the job is done, once its work warranty is over (you can change this, or keep a job's photos for a dispute). This note is general information, not legal advice.
App lock
You can set a 4–6 digit PIN, with optional fingerprint unlock. Only a salted hash of the PIN is kept, wrong tries are slowed down, and the app locks again after 5 minutes in the background. With the lock on, home-screen widgets show counts and totals only.
Backups
A backup file is made only when you tap Back up. It is encrypted with a password you choose (at least 6 characters; AES-256-GCM, with the key derived from your password) and saved where you pick, for example your phone, Google Drive or a WhatsApp chat to yourself. Job photos are left out unless you choose to include them. We can't open a backup or recover its password, so keep the password safe: without it the backup can't be restored.
Deleting your data
Erase a customer, retire a machine or deactivate a technician in the app, or uninstall the app to delete everything it stored on the phone. Backup files and documents you shared are yours to delete.
Children
Fairvisit is a tool for businesses. It is not directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect anything from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
